Academic Integrity Code
All work completed in this course must be done in compliance with the Academic Integrity Code as outlined in the Student Policy and Information Guide. To indicate the student’s commitment to academic honesty, all graded work should be signed with the following: “I pledge that I have complied with the Academic Integrity Code in this work.” The phrase “I pledge the A.I.C.” followed by a signature is also acceptable.
Attendance
You are marked for attendance as a measure of participation and engagement. Attendance is a simple % - you get the % of classes you attend.
Lab is separate. Labs are very difficult to reschedule, and a student should make every effort not to miss lab. There is ONE makeup week to accommodate for illness, family emergency etc. If a student misses a lab, the student will make-up the lab during the make-up week. If the student misses a second lab (or more), the student receives a zero for the blog entry. If you have special circumstances, please speak with the instructor before the scheduled lab period.
Students with Disabilities
Students with disabilities requesting classroom or course accommodations must complete a multi-faceted application/approval process through the Office of Disability Services prior to the development and implementation of an Accommodation Plan. Each Plan is individually and collaboratively developed with the directors or other staff of the following Departments, as appropriate: Academic Resource Center, Counseling Services, Student Health Services, and the Office of Disability Services. If you have not already done so, please contact the appropriate Department to begin a dialogue regarding your academic needs and recommended accommodations, auxiliary aids, and services.
If your accommodation plan is in progress, please notify Dr. Colabroy as soon as possible.
Course Unit Statement
The amount of time required is 3 hours of "lecture" and 3 hours of lab for 15 weeks, which exceeds the requirement for 4 hours of instructional time per week.
Evaluation
Assignment List
Lab
Weekly labs will be assessed by documentation during lab and answering questions after lab. Students will take photos and video to document their work on their blog. The lowest lab grade is dropped.
